Tires without air!
Technology always moves forward and as years go by the speed it goes increases greatly, live vehicles.
This year is a tough one for every market out there since the competition is dense in the air and even more regarding advances in key pieces of tech development are being applied to all fields, for example A.I and standard built-in support (of anything) through smartphone applications; it shouldn’t be strange nowadays.
Companies old and new are stepping up in this new game, and not even Bridgestone plans to stay behind all of it.
One can always evolve, create something novel and break grounds, and that’s exactly what the minds at the wheels of Bridgestone are driving their way just now.
Enter: The Air free Tire.
The impossible is only done through well driven imagination and a logical projections; on past April 17th, the company claimed a new generation of tires were in development for their bicycle brand, a tire that unlike any other will apply a new concept of design and production… no air will be involved.
This new product is the flag for the air free concept that is plaguing vehicle companies to advance; it consists in using a well thought structure that manages to support the weight of the vehicle’s user, in this case a bike, and also keep an ability to stretch in order to never stop regarding the terrain drive over. The highlighted material being used in this invention is rubbers spread in the inside of the tires.
Flexibility is key in this project and the prime matter of the tire will have elements of certain resin that will allow the design to be carry on high elasticity which could allow comfort while moving around on traffic, not letting the bike feel as flat but always up and tight.
The conception of “Air Free” is still adapting within vehicle technology but Bridgestone claims a 2018 or early 2019 will be the official year of release in order to offer something sustainable and full optimized.
Bridgestone Future
As with any other project, the Air Free Concept doesn’t stop there. Projections were already formulated and a future has been traced; the Bridgestone Group and its Cycle division are aiming for a full alliance with a vehicle company to produce a full set of bikes and small vehicles that mobilize over this future tires.
Bringing the card of eco-friendly idealism is another scheme to pull this interesting project through rain and fire, since another part of the goal is to create sustainable, strong and not bad for the environment – products that re-launch the market into a more conscious industry; one that offers comfort, solutions and novelties that move the society forward rather than on the sidelines of middle support with collateral damages.
At some –not so late- future we may be able to hop on automobiles that apply this technology into their tires, making light weight vehicles with better designs and less deteriorate process towards the human environment and the comfort of people’s everyday life, coming by in their vehicles all the time.
